What is DiSC
A profile, a system?
The DiSC© profile is a tool that works like a mirror: you can use it to observe your own behavioural style by measuring attributes or qualities, which are aspects of your personality. The DiSC profile measures preferred behaviour patterns.
The DiSC facilitation system enables trainers and coaches to help people getting more things done. While the profile tells more about yourself, the faciltation system helps building a learning experience.
Together, they enable people to gain insight in their own behaviour, it's impact on others and the possible need for change. As a result, relations become easier to handle and more rewarding: together people can focus on business outcomes.
The DiSC behavioural model is based on research conducted by William Moulton Marston Ph.D. (1893-1947). Marston wanted to examine the behaviour of "normal" people in their environment or within a specific situation.
DiSC does not measure:
- Your personality type
- Your values or what you believe in
- What you think or feel about this or that
